April sales heat up on farm prices | Bangkok Post: business

Domestic car sales surged in April despite the long holidays, driven by launches of new models, Bangkok's international motor show and higher crop prices. The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) yesterday said domestic sales in April rose 15.1% year-on-year to 63,267 units, but pulled back from 84,801 in March. For the first four months, domestic car sales amounted to 273,757 units, up by 15.7% from the same period last year. The FTI also reported that motorcycle sales rose 16.6% last month to 123,084 units, but declined by 25% month-on-month. Output over the first four months stood at 606,028 vehicles, a 6.1% fall from the same period last year.
